Hey Everyone!
Just want to let everyone know that Utah’s very own emeritus president received the National Award for “Outstanding Community Outreach Team Member” this year! If you can’t read the fine print in the picture, here is what was written about him:
“Ivan Thompson is a spirited champion of massage therapy who has dedicated countless hours towards enhancing the profession, organizing sports massage events, leading as the AMTA Utah Chapter President, and providing guidance to peers. Through his work at Myotherapy College, his leadership in AMTA, and his coordination of athletic events, he has built a bridge between education and professional mastery. His impact on the future of the industry is most evident in his tenure as an instructor who embodies the characteristics of a lifelong learner and never asks more of his students than he is willing to do himself. Ivan has shaped the careers of hundreds of therapists and elevated the standard of care for thousands of athletes through his extensive community outreach and even organization.
We are so glad that he has been extra recognized for all of the hard work that he has put in and we would like to add a little gratitude. ourselves, for all of the efforts and example of those efforts that he has given over the years!
Thank you, Ivan!
In addition, we, as a chapter, nominated Rebecca Farraway for the Chapter Meritorius Award! She is not only the owner and founder of Zion Massage College, but she is also a great collaborator and defender for our profession on a state level, generous with her time and resources and is a wonderful continuing education provider! We are excited to have her teach us an Intro to Thai Massage @ our Chapter Retreat this coming October (check the “Latest News” and/or the Events tab for more information).
Thank you, Rebecca!
